We begin by a recap of Eurovision past…

We hear the voting procedure for Eurosong 2009, 50% televote, 50% Jury. Juries in Sligo, Dublin, Cork, and Limerick.

SONG 01: “Flying” performed by M.N.A and composed by Ronan McCormack.

A pop-rocky catchy number, M.N.A. may have struck Eurovision gold. Similar air to popular Irish group "The Corrs." Alot of harmonies going on, with an Irish authentic theme to it. Will be interesting to see it being performed live, but very easy on the ear!

SONG 02: “Out of Control” performed by Laura-Jayne Hunter and composed by Derry O’Donovan.

The song opens in an Eimear Quinn "The Voice" style ballad winner from Eurovision 1996, a disco beat with a very much irish celtic flare to the song. Disco and very modern techno style too it, very different to Irish entrys of Eurovision past. Alot of things could feature in the visual presentation. Could this song be the one to look out for???

We take a pause for the news in Irish. Alot of positive feedback from listeners to the show so far bar the odd ecxeption!

SONG 03: “So What” performed by Lee Bradshaw and composed by Billy Larkin and Kevin Breathnach.

This song is a strong solo ballad, very easy on the ear. The song is a modern type of song and could give other ballads a run for their money. Lee's voice seems to be slightly rugged but have we heard this type of song before. Typical irish entry.

SONG 04: “Amazing” performed by Johnny Brady and composed by Tony Adams Rosa.

An uptempo number. Classical type of song you'd hear on holiday near a beach in Spain. Very much a spanish and latin america theme through it. Mix of guitar, drums, trumpets etc. Very catchy but is it Eurovision, very similar to Micky Joe Harte with "We've got the world" who represented Ireland in Eurovision 2003.

Commercialbreak now.

SONG 05: “I Wish I Could Pretend” performed by Kristina Zaharova and composed by Lauris Reiniks.

This song is a powerful ballad. Very easy on the ear. Typical of irish entries of Eurovision past. Very much a song which you could sway to, but seems to be abit boring, could struggle on the visual performance end. Could it win for Ireland?

Commercialbreak now and news.

SONG 06: “Et Cetera” performed by Sinead Mulvey & Black Daisy.Composed by Niall Mooney, Jonas Gladnikoff, Daniele Moretti & Christina Schilling.

Immediately this song takes you back to the Estonian entry in 2005 "Let's get loud" by Suntribe. Very pop-rocky, fun and upbeatwitha "High school musical"typetone running though this song. Seems to be edgy and could work very well in presentation. The kids may like this one.
