Tonight: First semi final in Spain

RTVE the Spanish natioanal broadcaster will be kicking off tonight the first semifinal of the Spanish Eurovision national final. The show will be aired live on TVE1 and TVE International at 22:30 CET. There will be a live webcast available on TVE's official Eurovision website. Ten candidates will be competing in their quest to qualify for the final Spanish Eurovision national final.

TV BROADCAST – The show will be broadcast on TVE1 in Spain and TVE international for those that receive it on satellite.

The first semifinal of Eurovision 2009, El Retorno will be held tonight at thel Teatro-Casino L’Aliança de Poble Nouin Barcelona. The ever glowing Alaska and Miguel Serrano will be the hosts of the show. A total of ten candidates will be battling each another in other in order to qualify for the grand final. TVE, the national Spanish broadcaster has worked hardto preparing tonight's show, which is exected to be "entertaining and full of surprises".

The following artists wil be competing in tonight's semifinal. Melody y los Vivancos, La la Love You, Normativa Vigente, Vicente Casal, Yulia Valentayn, Noelia Cano, Atalis, Carlos Ferrer EAI, Gran Baobab and La Red de San Luis.

The topthree candidates with the highest results will qualify for the grand final. A 50/50 Jury and Televoting deliberation will decide whichthree candidates pass to the final. Jose Luis Urribari, Toni Garrido, Mauro Canut and Mariola Orellana arefour of the members of the expert jury. The fifth member of the expert jury will be chosen by a 50/50 jury and televoting deliberation. The five candidates competing to win the honour of joining the special expert jury panel are:Isaac Urrea, José García Hernández, Miguel Ángel Mur, Víctor EscuderoandPedro Martínez.
