UPD Greece: Songs presentation for Sakis

The time has come for the Greek national broadcaster to present the three songs of the national selection in a press conference to be held in Athens. esctoday.com will provide you all the latest news live from the Galaxy room in Hilton hotel.

ERT, the Greek broadcaster is about to hold a press conference, to present the three songs that Sakis will perform in the national selection in 18th February.

The audience will get the chance to meet the composer Dimitris Kontopoulos and the lyricist Alexanda Zakka, the choreographer Fokas Evangelinos and the Maggira Sisters that will present the final show and also comentate the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 semifinals and final in May.

The choreographer and art director of the selection show, Fokas Evangelinos, gave information about the national selection show. The script of the night will be written by the actor and Eurovision Song Contest 2006 commentator, Giorgos Kapoutzidis.

Dimitris Kontopoulos explained to the media representatives that as far as the lyrics are concerned, they were chosen not because of their creators, but having in mind what was more suitable to the songs. Sakis also mentioned that he had the chance to listen to the French and Turkish entry. Concerning the backing vocals and dancers, Sakis mentioned that this will be decided after the national selection, in order to boost the song and performance.

Mrs Fotini Yannoulatou, Head of the ERT International Relations Dpt mentioned that in the Greek final we will see this year's representatives from Cyprus, Montenegro, Belarus and possibly Malta.
