The EBU has announced today that due the debts of the Romanian Broadcaster TVR, Romania will not be able to participate in this year’s contest. This year’s Eurovision artists along with former artists and fans all gather to support Ovidiu Anton who was supposed to sing Moment of Silence for Romania in the second semifinal of the contest.

Performing Moment of Silence in Eurovision in Concert, Israel Calling and the London Eurovision Party, Ovidiu became a good friend of many of this year’s artist and got to know a lot of kind Eurovision fans. Now, the artists and fans are up to support Ovidiu and also initiated a petition and the idea of inviting Ovidiu as a guest artist to perform in the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final.

Whether Ovidiu will be invited as a guest artist is probably left to the decision of host broadcaster SVT. With a bit more than a week before the rehearsals kick off in Stockholm, any further decisions that should be made, should happen quickly.
