Petra Mede: “It will be songs and music and a lot of happiness”

Petra Mede is one of the most familiar names when it comes to hosting the Eurovision Song Contest, as she hosted the 2013 edition alone, being the first one to do so since 1995. She also hosted the Eurovision Greatest Hits gala in London last year for celebrating the 60th anniversary of the contest, and in less than a month time, she will host the contest again along with last year’s winner Måns Zelmerlöw.

With such a repertoire in her CV, one might think that Petra is stressed to host this year’s contest even better. In fact, she is not stressed at all.

“I don’t believe that it’s good to go with the feeling that one must exceed something that has been done before, or even to compare. I focus on what I should do and along with Måns we should do this in a way where we feel ourselves very comfortable and I really love this context”, says Petra.

The official Instagram of Melodiestivalen is providing us a sneak peek to the rehearsals of Petra and Måns:

“It will be songs and music and a lot of happiness”, says Petra, and after the success of the Swedish Smörgåsbord interval act in 2013, we will have to wait and see how musical the presentation of this year’s Eurovision will be.
