Eurovision 2008: Serbian Crown Prince to welcome contestants

The Crown Prince of Serbia Aleksandar Karađorđević; and his Greek wife Princess Katharine and their three sons will welcome all 43 Eurovision Song Contest participants at the White Palace in Belgrade.

This special and unique party will be held on May 18th under the name "Europe Sings in the white palace."

The contestants will be treated to a tour of the residency where the Crown Prince lives. Following this they will be treated to the national Serbian dance "Kolo". The Eurovision stars will be able to view an array of European art by Rembrandt, Poussain as well as china made for King Louis the XIV which are all present in the palace.

On top of that they will be able to see an amazing view of Belgrade, 400 kinds of plants in the garden as well as a unique church which has a preserved painting of Jesus Christ with a bullet hole through his forehead which was shot at by communists when the Kingdom of Serbia collapsed.

Along this unique opportunity the 43 delegations will also visit the world's biggest Christian Orthodox Church. The Temple of St. Sava located in central Belgrade.

The Eurovision Song Contest begins on May 20th with the first semi final, on May 22nd with the second semi final, then the grand final on May 24th.
