In a message sent by the Bulgarian broadcaster BNT, it was expected that the Bulgarian song for Eurovision Song Contest 2016 will be presented today during BNT’s morning show Denyat zapochva (The day begins) which will be broadcasted on BNT1 between 9:00-11:00 local time (8:00-10:00 CET)

[UPDATE 22/2 10:10]: Though the Bulgarian song was expected to be presented this morning, Poli’s appearance at the morning show did not include a song presentation. As the deadline to submit songs for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 is 14 March, we will probably get to know the Bulgarian entry soon. However, we could get more details regarding the Bulgarian entry: Poli was dreaming of a second chance at the Eurovision since her participation in 2011 and now the dream comes true. The song will be uplifting and will have a different story this time, as she is more mature and an experienced performer, and she wants her song to be understood by everyone, means it will be sung in English, but might have a part in Bulgarian as well. “Since 2011 I have been dreaming and working for the moment I would be able to enjoy another 3 minutes on that stage. Hopefully they will be 6 this time”, said Poli, means that she hopes to qualify to the final this time.

On 19 February it was announced that Poli Genova will return to the Eurovision Song Contest as the Bulgarian representative. She had represented Bulgaria in the Eurovision Song Contest of 2011 with the song Na inat which is considered to be one of the most loved entries of Bulgaria, despite only finishing 12th in the second semifinal of the contest.

Poli has recently hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 that was held in Sofia. Her first connection to the Eurovision world took place in 2009, when she ended as a runner-up in the Bulgarian selection with One lifetime is not enough.
