France: Internal selection for Eurovision 2016

France will select its 2016 Eurovision entry and act via an internal selection.

France 2 has opted for an internal selection in order to select the French song and act for Stockholm.

Artists, songwriters, composers and singers wishing to represent France at the forthcoming 2016 Eurovision Song Contest can send in their entries to France 2 until 31 October.

The song has to be at least 80% in French and 20% in a foreign language. The pontential candidates can be of any nationality but are required to be able to speak and sing in French. Age limit for the potential artists has been set to 50 years of age.

Hereafter a special committee will evaluate all received entries and after making their deliberation will select the 2016 French Eurovision entry and act.

The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 10, 12 and 14 May at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, France.

In 2015 France opted for an internal selection and selected Lisa Angell to fly the French flag with her entry N’obliez pas.

France is one of the founder members of the Eurovision Song Contest and debuted in the event in 1956 and has won the competition 5 times.
