Eurovision 2015: Hosts talk Eurovision

In exactly 19 days time, Mirjam Weichselbraun, Alice Tumler and Arabella Kiesbauer will welcome the world to Vienna for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest. Relaxed and full of anticipation, the trio certainly don’t need a help for their role as hosts.

All three of them have stated that hosting the contest to an expected audience of 200 million people will be the biggest challenge of their career so far.

The song contest is the highlight of a multilingual presentation. I’m sure that I can enjoy every minute of it – says Alice speaking to songcontest.orf.

Mirjam is also aware of the dimension of the event:

It’s not a show as any other, but a giant broadcast, such as I never experienced it in this form. I’ve never had so many targets. To comply with the rules and to remain, but that will be the challenge.

Arabella sees the moderation as a great responsibility. An important moment for Austria, the message of openness and tolerance. With me it continues of course towards non-discrimination.

I think the motto of ‘Building Bridges’  is perfect. Just today I find beautiful that a programme brings together so many people and countries…no matter what cultural differences we have, we see ourselves at the emotional level of music.” – Alice Tumler

When asked how the three presenters are getting on as a tio, Mirjam was quick to comment that all them get along well. I can moderate with two solid professionals. People I can rely on.
